This Act may be cited as the “Operation ‘Crack’ Down” SECTION 2. FINDINGS Illegal trafficking of firearms has cause 6,200 deaths in 2008 and 1,000 so far in 2009
2,524 firearms seized in Mexico, came from Texas, Arizona, and California
1,053 firearms traced in Mexico, were seized from the other 47 states
90% of firearms recovered in Mexico came from the U.S
Drug trafficking is the greatest organized threat to the U.S In 2008 more than 5800 were killed in Mexico due to drug related violence
More than 1600 of deaths due to drug related violence came from Ciudad Jurairez (located off the border of Texas)
Many Americans with gun lincense sell arms to illegal immigrants with out their license. These people are callled "straw punchers" SECTION 3: PURPOSE To improve security along the U.S. - Mexican Border and to protect the safety of American citizens from violence caused by Mexican drug cartels by reducing illegal drug trafficking SECTION 3. ELIGIBILITY. NA SECTION 4. TERMS AND BENEFITS OF SERVICE. Install improved technology such as x-ray machines along the Mexican Border to search passenger vehicles for illegal arms
Increase the number of security guards at the local, state, and national level
Amendment 1: If an American citizen is found trafficking illegal drugs or firearms across the US-Mexico border, the penalty shall include the following: no bail; minimum of 10 years in jail, but actual jail time will be determined on case to case bases; and at least 1,000 service hours pertaining drug issues.
Amendment 2: Increase the amount of inspections at border crossing.
Amendement 2: "Straw punchers" will have their guns linsense suspended for 10 years
